How Do I Prepare For My AudioBio?

Before the interviews sessions, we organise a preliminary conversation so we get the opportunity to establish a timeline and define the main chapters of your life you want to focus on. That is what we call the Consultation. It's a key step to structure your AudioBio, and a bit of preparation could go a long way. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to best prepare for your Consultation.

1.Reflect on Your Story and its Characters

Take time to reflect on the milestones and key experiences that have shaped your life - and take notes. Consider the lessons you've learned and the values you hold dear. Same for the people who mattered along the way. While you are the main character of your life, think of all the incredible people who made it better. Your AudioBio is a wonderful way to honour them too.

2. Think Chronologically... Or Not!

Starting from birth and working your way to the present is a good way to structure your AudioBio - but not the only one. We can go by themes (family, work, travels, ), we can go in reverse, we can solely focus on certain years, or decades... It's your choice and that's what the Consultation is about. If you like the idea of chronology, write down a timeline with key dates and events. This would be the foundations of your AudioBio.

3. Compile Key Stories and Anecdotes

Identify key stories and anecdotes that added salt to your life. These could be life-changing events, humorous incidents, or heartfelt memories that highlight your journey. Stories that have left a mark.

4. Gather Supporting Materials

Collect photographs, letters, and other memorabilia that can enrich your storytelling. These visuals can add depth and context to your narratives.

5. Embrace Authenticity

Your AudioBio is a chance to be your true self. Embrace authenticity and don't worry about sounding perfect – your natural voice and emotions are what make your story captivating.

6. Relax!

It's natural to feel a bit nervous... Don't fight it. Going through your life is a meaningful and profound exercise. We're here to help feel comfortable. We're used to nerves!

7. Talk To Us

If there are other aspects of your stories you absolutely want to dive into, now is the time to insist! This ensures all the topics you want to cover are addressed, don't be shy and let us know. We want the interview sessions to gather all the material you rightfully expect.

Remember, your Audio Biography is a reflection of your life's journey. By preparing thoughtfully and embracing the process, you'll enjoy it even more. But remember, we're here to guide you every step of the way.
